During the season of Lent, I will be doing a sermon series entitled Renegade Gospel.  During the Lenten season, let's not just hear the story of Jesus' death and resurrection and get on with our normal life.  What if we could be radically changed by this rebel called Jesus?  What if we took his teachings seriously in our daily lives?  What if we lived believing he is alive and living in and through us?  It is easy to say yes to Jesus' call. It is not easy to follow him wherever he leads.  During the Lenten season, Jesus leads us to Calvary and asks us to lay down our lives, take up our cross, and follow him to a life of true discipleship.  We will take a good look at Jesus and see who he really was, what he really was about, and what it really means to follow him.  There is no better time than now, in this Lenten season, to pray to truly follow Jesus.  My prayer is that you will bring all you have ever thought, wondered, or doubted about Jesus and invite him to show you who he is and that you will say YES! and follow hard after him.

We invite you to our worship service at Lakeview United Methodist Church.
