Lakeview United Methodist Church has been recognized by United Methodist Communications (UMCom) as an official "Welcoming Congregation"
Welcoming congregations are a selected group of United Methodist congregations nationwide that meet certain criteria, including welcoming newcomers and providing opportunities in discipleship. This program is a part of an effort by the Methodist Church's communications agency to use the public media to spread the news of Christ to the world. Using "Open hearts, open minds, open doors" as the theme of our denominational effort, we hope to connect with those searching for hope and help them connect with our Church family.
You can find out even more about our church by logging on to www.Find-A-Church.org. You will see that we are listed in red as a welcoming congregation church.
Our next Sunday church service schedule can be seen under the Info Center tab on this page.

If you would like to contribute to the Joplin Recovery Mission Trip but you aren't able to go on the trip or physically able to go, you have another option that you can contribute with. You can purchase a stock share for $100 and that money will be used to help with the trip and the recovery work there. That also entitles your family to attend a dinner at Lakeview after the trip is complete and to hear about the trip. If you are interested in purchasing a share, please contact the church office at 377-1226. They will be sold thru May 22.
Preschool graduation will be May 14 and May 15 at 6:30PM in the sanctuary.

UCAP (United Christian Assistance Program) has notified us that they are in need of canned meats....tuna, chicken, spam, vienna sausages, etc.
Don't forget to bring items for some needy children that they can easily eat without a lot of preparation. Our Lenten project is to provide some meals for some local children who don't have food except for what they receive at school. We need small cereal boxes, pudding cups, crackers with peanut butter, jello cups, vienna sausages, money for bread and fruit, anything that small hands can prepare.
Remember to bring food items for Children's Ministry to the church. No peanuts please! They need juice boxes, microwave popcorn, chips, goldfish crackers, etc. Also needed are little prizes for their treasure chest like, toy rings, toy airplanes, yoyo's, puzzles, books, whistles, etc. They are about to start back up after their summer break.
Lakeview would like to thank Montie' Dobbins and Carol Heard for bringing the message the last two weeks while Bro. Leon was in the hospital.
The coupon tub is still in the foyer! Please remember to bring coupons that our ladies can use for items for UCAP and children's ministry and soup!
Ministry to Nursing Homes, etc. requests personal size toiletries. Leave your contribution in the Followers of the Way classroom.
